Timings Of Your Wedding Day

Timings Of Your Wedding Day

When planning your wedding day, the MOST important element for a perfect day is your timeline. A well-structured timeline helps ensure that everything runs smoothly and that you can enjoy every element without feeling stressed or rushed.

Start by determining the key events of your day, such as the ceremony, welcome drinks, and reception. Next, allocate time for each segment, considering how long each will take. For example, the ceremony may last around 30-40 minutes, while reception drinks or a wedding buffet/breakfast are usually a couple of hours.

Be sure to include buffer times just in case you come across unexpected delays, such as hair and makeup overrunning or delayed arrival.

It’s also a good idea to communicate the timeline with your vendors, bridal party, and family members to keep everyone on the same page. (This is where I come in handy, having a professional wedding planner on hand to sort timings and keep you on track is so much easier, and a lot less for you to think about).

Finally, don’t forget to schedule some time for just the two of you to relax and absorb some special moments of the day. I usually recommend couples to take at least half an hour out of the day to have some time alone and soak up the magical day. Weddings can be overwhelming so it’s good to take a step back for a minute! (Make sure you bring your photographer too, so nothing is missed out!)

Having the best schedule makes all the difference in ensuring your wedding day is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible!

Finding The Perfect Wedding Venue

Finding The Perfect Wedding Venue

Choosing the right venue is a crucial step in the wedding planning process, as it sets the stage for your entire celebration. Here are some of my tips that will help you find the perfect location for your special day.

First, consider the style of your wedding. Are you envisiging a grand affair in a historic mansion, a cozy gathering in a rustic barn, or a beach ceremony with the sound of waves in the background? The venue should align with your overall theme and vibe. This theme should represent you both. Make a list of venues that match your vision and narrow it down based on your preferences. (I’ve found that mood boards are the best way to visualise).

Next, think about the guest list. The size of your venue should accommodate your guests comfortably. It’s essential to strike a balance between a space that feels intimate but also spacious enough to avoid it looking overcrowded. When you visit potential venues, make sure to visualise how you want to guests seated. This includes things such as spacing, interaction and being comfortable.

Make sure you take your time in choosing the right venue, because you want to create a memorable atmosphere that enhances your wedding day experience for all. Happy venue hunting!

How Do You Start Planning For A Wedding?

How Do You Start Planning For A Wedding?

Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming but exciting at the same time. Once you’ve found the right approach, it can also be a beautiful journey. Here are some of my essential tips that I use to help couples navigate their wedding planning process smoothly.

Firstly, we set a budget. This will help with all your decisions moving forward, from the venue and suppliers to the creatives and finer details. Be sure to account for all potential expenses, including the venue, guest list, catering, attire, and décor. Don’t always fall for “package deals” – these are not necessarily going to be your cheapest option. Once you have a clear budget, make a list of your expenses in priority order and allocate funds accordingly.

Then, we create a timeline. A well-structured timeline can help keep you on track. Begin with generalising, eg. when are you looking to get married, what is your ideal structure and timeline of the day, how many people are you looking to invite, which venue… etc. This will then determine when to send out invitations, which vendors and suppliers you need, and then finalise these details. Remember, flexibility is key; things may not always go according to plan, so be prepared to adapt.

Lastly, don’t hesitate to ask for help. Whether it’s using your family as support or hiring a professional (like me). Having someone to hold accountable can help relieve stress and make the process more enjoyable for both the planning process and on the day.

Remember, your wedding day is a celebration of your love for eachother, and it should reflect your unique style and personality.

Embrace the journey, and enjoy every moment leading up to your special day!
