Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming but exciting at the same time. Once you’ve found the right approach, it can also be a beautiful journey. Here are some of my essential tips that I use to help couples navigate their wedding planning process smoothly.

Firstly, we set a budget. This will help with all your decisions moving forward, from the venue and suppliers to the creatives and finer details. Be sure to account for all potential expenses, including the venue, guest list, catering, attire, and décor. Don’t always fall for “package deals” – these are not necessarily going to be your cheapest option. Once you have a clear budget, make a list of your expenses in priority order and allocate funds accordingly.

Then, we create a timeline. A well-structured timeline can help keep you on track. Begin with generalising, eg. when are you looking to get married, what is your ideal structure and timeline of the day, how many people are you looking to invite, which venue… etc. This will then determine when to send out invitations, which vendors and suppliers you need, and then finalise these details. Remember, flexibility is key; things may not always go according to plan, so be prepared to adapt.

Lastly, don’t hesitate to ask for help. Whether it’s using your family as support or hiring a professional (like me). Having someone to hold accountable can help relieve stress and make the process more enjoyable for both the planning process and on the day.

Remember, your wedding day is a celebration of your love for eachother, and it should reflect your unique style and personality.

Embrace the journey, and enjoy every moment leading up to your special day!
